Shopping Trip: Foldable, Felt, Fantastic Breadbaskets from Velocity Art & Design

Printer-friendly version

I love when architects put their skills to use to create unusual, but functional products, such as Josh Jakus did with his Avva Felt Breadbasket ($62) for Teroforma, available at Velocity Art and Design (251 Yale Ave. N, Seattle; 206.749.9575). These 100 percent wool felt breadbaskets come in four super shades so far (an autumn palette is rumored). The basket stays shapely even when empty, but, after all of the edible goods are savored, easily unfold into a flat shape for storage. Although introduced last year, it occured to us that these mod baskets are perfect to pep up our summertime party tables and picnics.
