Looking for an Efficient, Elegant Design Do-Over?

It's not often that a utility company offers to give away cash and prizes to customers.

But that's just what Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has in mind with its first  "Re-Energized by Design" contest that invites contestants to compete for energy-efficient products—from lights to laundry units—and a grand prize of $5,000. Not to mention, the opportunity of giving their home an energy, style upgrade.

"We’re excited to give our customers the tools to get creative in using efficiency as a complement to great design in their homes," says Cal Shirley, PSE VP of Customer Solutions. And the tools contestants will have at their disposal include the latest in energy-efficient products provided by PSE, GE and Frigidaire, and a personal design coach to help them complete a series of room makeovers. After each makeover challenge, a local celebrity judge panel will review and score their efforts (challenges will also be filmed for a series of “webisodes").

All home-owning PSE electric and natural gas customers living in an existing single-family property, or attached housing with four units or less, are eligible to apply. To enter, simply create a short video introducing yourselves and your home and upload it to the Re-Energized by Design website before October 31.
