Shopping Trip: The New Harvest Dining Table from James De Wulf

Printer-friendly version

After starting out making admittedly "dorky" ashtrays, California-based, self-taught concrete designer James De Wulf quickly moved on to countertops and statement sinks, and now does a full gamut of furniture with his favorite material. His newest creation is the Harvest Dining Table ($3,600), available in Portland at J.D. Madison (1301 NW Glisan, Portland, OR; 503.827.6037). It's a sleek round table with a thin concrete top and powder coated steel base that elegantly tapers at the core and fluffs back out to the floor. Inside or outside, and from funky occasional tables to bold seating to steel lighting, De Wulf makes concrete look decidedly cool and comfortable.
