About
At Northwest Home (online and in-print) our goal is to keep your home work to a minimum.
Since 2001, we've covered home projects big and small that mix the unexpected with the practical, and that speak to our region’s unique urban and suburban dwellers. You'll find an abundance of helpful tips (say, how to hire an architect or build a chicken coop) and engaging retail trips (say, where to find cabinet knobs fashioned from old hubcaps).
We also place a premium on real-world home experiences. Not only do we feature from-the-ground-up Project Blogs (follow Northwest Harvest House and architect George Ostrow as he raises a new green house in Kirkland), our popular Home of the Month Tour, in partnership with AIA Seattle, literally invites you to go inside an architect-designed home to quiz the owner and designer on the highs and lows of their recent home-building adventure. What better way to get the skinny on the process before you dive into your next project?
So whether we’re talking about building a new home or remodeling an old one: we aim to simplify and surprise, inform and inspire. Welcome!
